PM Modi Highlights Cyber Fraud Prevention in “Mann Ki Baat” After Viral Video Gains PMO’s Attention

In a recent episode of “Mann Ki Baat,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi spotlighted a story about cyber fraud prevention, featuring Santosh Patil from Vijayapura, Karnataka. Santosh’s quick thinking in recording and exposing an attempted fraud involving a scammer posing as a police officer became widely known after Telangana IPS officer VC Sajjanar shared it on his X (formerly Twitter) account in September. The video soon went viral, gaining attention from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The PMO, intrigued by the video, requested the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to locate Santosh. Sajjanar, after several hours of tracing efforts, managed to establish contact with Santosh. The PMO later reached out to Santosh, who was initially surprised by the attention but grateful for the recognition of his experience in dealing with the scam.

Santosh expressed his thanks to Officer Sajjanar for facilitating the communication, which led to his story being featured nationally as an example of vigilance against cyber fraud.
