WhatsApp users across the world facing downtime ?

There was a disruption in the services of Meta-owned popular messaging app WhatsApp. Many users across the country reported that they were unable to send or receive messages and make calls on WhatsApp platform. The messages were undelivered and calls couldn’t not connect. On WhatsApp’s web version several users got logged out  with a pop up message mentioning connection error. What is the reason behind this outage is still not clear. But it is not the first time that the app is experiencing an outage. Even in 2021 a similar issue was reported.

According to Downdetector, besides India, WhatsApp users in various other countries like the USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, Pakistan, Germany and France etc also faced issues. As the app was down for over two hours the outage issue got viral on Twitter through memes and comments.

WhatsApp acknowledged the problem and worked on restoring the services. However, WhatsApp services seem to be normal now as it is working for Android and iOS apps.
