Online travel agencies like MakeMyTrip and Airbnb report a significant uptick in bookings, with domestic searches on Airbnb up by 34% compared to last year. MakeMyTrip’s Rajesh Magow notes increased interest in southern cities and a decline in northern hill stations due to weather. Airbnb’s Amanpreet Bajaj highlights a trend towards domestic travel for short breaks, while international travel sees growing demand in cities like Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, and Istanbul.
