9 year old girl raped in Delhi’s Kiradi, then threatened to kill, doctor arrested after uproar

In a shocking incident in Delhi’s Kirari area, a quack doctor named Babu Khan, also known as Alamgir, has been accused of taking a child to his clinic under false pretenses and subjecting him to severe abuse. The incident, which occurred on December 12, came to light when the child began experiencing pain two days later as the effects of the administered medication started to wear off. The child then revealed the traumatic experience to his parents.

According to reports, the doctor initially misled the child with inappropriate content before coercing him into further actions. The situation escalated when a young girl, who had gone to purchase items from a shop, was also allegedly lured to the clinic and subjected to similar abuse. These revelations sparked outrage among the local community.

Angered by the heinous acts and the perceived inaction of the authorities, local residents and family members organized a protest outside the Prem Nagar police station. The demonstration quickly turned tense, with protesters demanding immediate action against the doctor. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when SHO Rajiv Ranjan, instead of addressing the concerns, reportedly reacted with hostility, accusing the demonstrators of inciting riots and engaging in misconduct with local women. Several protesters were arrested, and there were allegations of police officers misbehaving with media personnel present at the scene.

Despite the public outcry, it took about 10 days for the authorities to apprehend Babu Khan. This delay has led to accusations that the local police are attempting to cover up the case. Residents allege that the police response has been inadequate and that there is a lack of transparency in the handling of the investigation.

The arrest of Babu Khan has brought some relief to the community, but many are still calling for a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure justice is served. There are growing concerns about the presence of unqualified medical practitioners operating in the area and the risks they pose to vulnerable individuals.

This incident has highlighted the need for stricter regulations and monitoring of medical practices, especially in areas where access to qualified healthcare professionals is limited. It also underscores the importance of prompt and appropriate action by law enforcement agencies to protect the rights and safety of citizens.

As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the authorities will address the grievances of the affected families and the community at large. The incident has also sparked a broader conversation about the need for better protection mechanisms for children and the role of community vigilance in preventing such abuses in the future.
