Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri Crowned Miss World 2025 in Grand Finale Held in Hyderabad
In a dazzling and emotion-filled finale held on May 31, 2025, at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025, marking a historic moment in the 72nd edition of the prestigious international beauty pageant. Beating out 107 other contestants from across the globe, Opal emerged as the winner in front of an enthusiastic global audience, with Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu announced as the runner-up.
The crowning moment was made even more special as Opal Suchata received the iconic Miss World crown from outgoing queen Krystyna Pyszková. The event was co-hosted by former Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar, adding glamour and gravitas to the evening. The grand finale saw Hyderabad once again at the heart of international attention, with India having also hosted the beauty competition in the previous year.
Opal Suchata Chuangsri’s win is not only a personal triumph but also a source of pride for Thailand, and a beacon of inspiration for young women around the world. In her heartfelt first speech as the newly crowned Miss World 2025, Opal said, “This moment is not just a personal victory, it is a shared dream of every young girl who wants to be seen, heard, and create change. I am honoured to represent this legacy and use my time as Miss World to make a real difference.” Her powerful words struck a chord with millions watching the event live and online, underlining the purpose-driven ethos that Miss World represents.
According to the official Miss World website, Opal is currently pursuing a degree in International Relations and aspires to become an ambassador in the future. She also holds a keen interest in Psychology and Anthropology, reflecting a deep curiosity about human behavior and cultures. Her commitment to making a positive difference is evident in her volunteering work with organisations supporting breast cancer patients. One of her most touching experiences came when a supporter who battled cancer told her that she was cancer-free and had drawn inspiration from Opal’s own story—having undergone surgery at the age of 16. This life-altering moment made her realize the importance of living her dreams and inspiring others to do the same.
Opal’s personal motto, “To know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded,” beautifully encapsulates her compassionate and resilient spirit. Apart from her advocacy and academic pursuits, Opal is known for her quirky talent of playing the ukulele backwards and shares her home with sixteen cats and five dogs, reflecting her fun-loving personality and deep love for animals.
India’s Nandini Gupta, who had previously won the Femina Miss India World 2023 title, proudly represented the host nation. She made a remarkable impression by securing a spot in the final 20 and winning the Top Model fast-track challenge, drawing applause for her elegance and commitment. Although she did not reach the top 5, her performance was widely appreciated by both judges and fans alike.
Adding to the grandeur of the evening, Bollywood actress and former Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar, made a special appearance, receiving a rousing welcome from the Indian audience. Her presence, alongside six past Indian Miss World winners—Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and herself—reminded the world of India’s strong legacy at the Miss World pageant.
With its 72nd edition successfully concluded, the Miss World Organisation continues to stand as one of the world’s most influential beauty platforms, celebrating not just outer beauty but purpose, intelligence, compassion, and social impact. This year’s crowning of Opal Suchata Chuangsri is a testament to the power of resilience, vision, and the drive to inspire change globally.
