C Babu Naidu Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody, Section 144 in Andhra Pradesh. Schools remains closed for Students & Teachers

On Sunday, anxiousness continued on whether N Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister and the national president of TDP who was arrested will be granted a bail or sent to remand. The situations were in tense till late evening on sunday.

Tight security was initiated by the police in all parts of Andhra Pradesh. However, Mr Naidu was decided to send to remand by the court and he would probably be sent to Rajamahendravaram Central Jail. Due to this decision by the court, tight security was arranged and precautionary alerts were made across the state. As the law order was issued as per Section 144 of the Cr.PC. throughout the state by the concerned authorities. Public were neither allowed to go in group’s nor to carry any destructive equipment/ weapons.

Security forces were placed near the court and public motion was strictly prohibited near the ACB Special Court. Barricades were arranged and rope parties were also deployed near the court to manage the crowd. Some of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders tried to protest near the court and as a preventive custody they were taken into charge by the police. In order to control unexpected situations safeguarding was boosted by the securities. In some parts of the State, regulations like curfew were also seen.

Top police officials like IGS, DIGS and Superintendents of Police were kept on alert to direct and review the situations. Officials from the Andhra Pradesh Special Police battalions, Quick Response Teams, Octopus and other platoons were also deployed. Special force has been set up with high security at the residence of the Chief Minister and also at the AP Police Headquarters. Traffic was also deviated and regulations were set up on roads. Apart from this, additional forces were deployed at places like railway stations, government offices, houses of Ministers, MLAs, Members of Parliament and MLCS. Police arranged for pickets and cadres under house arrest for a few TDP leaders who planned for protests in some of the places. Roads were cleared near Rajamahendravaram and security was tightened on the highway of Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam.

A senior police officer spoke to The Hindu saying that with ACB Special Court sending Mr Naidu to remand, the police had to deploy high security after helding a emergency meeting in order to review and control the law and order conditions throughout the state. He also stated that the situations as of now are under control.
