India landed on moon, becomes 4th country ever to land it’s aircraft.

India has created a history by becoming the first nation to successfully land on the South Pole of the lunar surface. Prime Minister Modi cheered both Indian citizens and space scientists for this brilliant achievement. He said that this day would be remembered in India’s history forever.

The ultimate challenge for the mission had started during the final stage of the landing procedure. ISRO had initiated (ALS) Automatic Landing Sequence 20 minutes prior to the landing, enabling the Vikram LM to take control by utilizing the computers on-board and use logical algorithms to spot the location and to make a soft-landing on the south pole of the lunar surface.

As soon as the Chandrayaan-3 mission became successful, ISRO said that the communication link between the space agency’s Mission Operations Complex (MOX) and the Lander was established. The Mission Operations Complex is located at the (ISTRAC) ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network.

ISRO was very much cautious this time, as the second launch failed in the last few minutes before its landing. The spacecraft faced considerable risk in the last few moments leading  to the moon landing, this phase got the nickname “20 or 17 minutes of terror.” The Vikram lander activated its engines at precise altitudes and timings, ensuring a self-guided descent. The entire procedure is operated autonomously throughout this critical period.

“The last few moments of the launch had played a vital role for the success of this mission, where the Vikram lander of Chandrayaan-3 started to deteriorate for the soft landing on the surface of the moon. Indian citizens throughout the nation and all over the world had been praying for the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 today”, Experts said.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said, “We are all proud. The whole nation is now filled with joy and happiness. Chandrayaan-3 has landed on the lunar surface now, we are very happy. New India has emerged under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.”

Rahul Gandhi said, ” The tremendous ingenuity and hard work by our scientific community from decades has resulted in the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 in the lunar South Pole. The space programme of India has continued to reach new heights and is also inspiring generations of young dreamers since 1962″, he said.

According to ANI, The Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud made a statement that, “This successful lunar mission places India among the selected group of countries that have achieved a lunar surface landing. It holds even greater significance as India stands alone in achieving a landing on the lunar South Pole. As a proud citizen of our great nation, witnessing the remarkable landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon has filled me with immense pride. This achievement opens doors to new scientific research and many discoveries, marking a significant milestone in our nation’s journey. He congratulated Team ISRO and the scientific community for this historic achievement and for making the entire country proud.”
