Karnataka- Congress party is likely to win more than 100 seats in this election?

The final canvass conducted by the Centre for Voting Opinion & Trends in Election Research (C-voter) for the Karnataka Assembly elections specifies that the Congress is quite in the prime position though the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has closed the campaign in a very interesting way by covering up the earlier gaps.

The complete analysis was conducted on the data collected during the survey in the various demographic segments of the several major regions across the state. The analysis suggests that the Congress party is expected to win more than 100 seats in the upcoming elections which is scheduled on May 10. The majority should be 113 seats in the Karnataka Assembly out of 224 seats for a winning Government.

The projection made by the Congress party in the current year is 40.2 percent of the total number of votes. The total percentage of the expected votes to the Congress party has been increased by 2.2 percent from the previous Assembly elections in the year 2018 and the Bharatiya Janata Party has won almost 204 seats in the Assembly elections of 2018.

The most attractive portion of the BJP is that the projection made on the vote share is the same as previous year elections at the rate of 36 percent. The improvement for BJP is seen in both the terms i.e. seats and also the vote share.

In the case of the JDS party, the projection conveys that it is expected to win around 30 seats in the current elections. But, the JDS party has won 37 seats in the 2018 elections. Hence, we can make a statement that there is a decrease in the number of seats when compared to the previous elections by almost 2 percent.

Around 32 MLAs are being sent to the Karnataka elections from the Bengaluru region and it is projected that the Congress party will win most of the seats when compared to the Bharatiya Janata Party. But, BJP is expected to bag more seats in the Mysore region. A study claims that there is a substantial increase in the total number of seats compared to last year’s elections. The total seats of the JDS party is expected to increase by 25 percent in the current year.

The elections are expected to happen on 10 May 2023 and the results of the same will be announced on 13 May 2023.

The current situation isn’t so clear to decide about the majorities and there is an equal fight between all the three parties. This scenario seems to be advantageous to the Congress party.
