Uttar Pradesh Man Kills Mother and Son Before Shooting Himself in Azamgarh; Daughter Critical

A shocking and tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh district on Tuesday, where a man fatally shot his mother and four-year-old son before taking his own life. The incident occurred in Chakia Mustafabad village, sending shockwaves through the local community and raising serious concerns about domestic conflict and mental health issues. According to police officials, the accused, identified as Neeraj Pandey, had been working at a fuel pump in Varanasi and had returned to his native village just a day prior to the gruesome event.

Senior Superintendent of Police Hemraj Meena stated that Neeraj, in what appears to be a fit of uncontrollable rage, opened fire on his family members on Tuesday afternoon. The victims included his elderly mother, Chandrakala, his young son, Sarthak, and his seven-year-old daughter, Subhi. After shooting them, Neeraj turned the weapon on himself, ending his own life. Alarmed by the sound of gunfire, local residents rushed to the scene and discovered all four individuals critically injured. Emergency services were immediately alerted, and the victims were taken to the district hospital. However, doctors pronounced Neeraj, Chandrakala, and Sarthak dead on arrival. Subhi, who suffered serious injuries, remains in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Neeraj may have been under the influence of alcohol during the incident. Authorities are also probing the possibility of a domestic dispute as a potential trigger for the violent outburst. A pistol was recovered from the crime scene, which is being examined for further forensic clues. The whereabouts of Neeraj’s wife at the time of the incident remain unknown, and police are exploring all angles to uncover the complete circumstances leading up to the tragedy. This deeply disturbing case highlights the urgent need for mental health awareness and timely intervention in domestic disputes to prevent such irreversible loss of life.
