Delhi university St Joseph’s cut off reaches 99.5%

St.Stephens college affiliated with Delhi University had released its cut-off list for admission to
undergraduate programs. Students who had applied for under graduation program online should go
through the cut-off to get admitted to St.Stephens college. The degree programs such as BSc, Bcom,
BCA, BBA, and BA can check cut-off list on Stephens college website www.ststephens.edu.
While compared to last year’s cut-off this year the cut-off points had heated the benchmark. For
admission to BA in Economics, the cut-off is 99.5%. this shocked the economists as well as students who
wanted to get admitted to BA. In class 12 board exams students have to score 99% of marks or higher
marks in history and English subjects to get enroll in BA in graduation. Therefore the cut-off is at 99%.
The cut-off for Bsc Mathematics, physics, and chemistry stands at 98.5%, 97.99%, and 96.33%
respectively.
In the year 2021 St.Stephens college highlighted the cut-off marks for the admission to UG program,
students have to secured massive percentages in the class 12 board exam. According to their class, 12
subjects students can choose the admission criteria according to their cut-off. The college had got its self
procedures to admit the students for higher studies and this was compiled for all colleges to be
expected to release the cut-off marks later in Delhi University’s colleges.
Reaction economists regarding this news –
The economists had stated that commerce and science students who have secured 99% in class 12 were
eligible to enroll for the History, English, and BA program. But for humanities students the cut-off in
these subjects differs, 98.25% and 97.75% respectively. The same percentage marks are sustained since
last year but the percentages for humanities students varied this year. The science percentages had also
varied from subject to subject and mentioned a minimum of 97.67% to 99% for all science subjects like
mathematics, physics, chemistry, and philosophy. Therefore these cut-off marks made talk of the town.
we can observe that in St.Stephens college the seats are reserved for minorities and Christians and they
have a different process for admission.
The below list shows a clear picture of cut-off percentages:

Economics 99.5 99.5 98.75
History 99 98.25 99
English 99 98.7 99
BA programme 99 97.75 99
Philosophy 98 98.75 97
Maths 98.5 98 98.5
Sanskrit 69 69 69
For PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) :

Physics 97.66
Bsc programme (computer science) 97
Chemistry 96.33
Bsc programme (chemistry) 95.33

  1. Therefore the college evaluates the student’s performance through marks secured and the interview
process. However, these cut-off marks were never expected in this year as the student’s education and
learnings also the academic year was affected by the evil called covid-19 pandemic. Even though the
Delhi University had released these cut-offs made bit crunch between the students and parents to admit
their children in colleges. The central government had also mentioned that this year we are going to
apply for NEP 2020 and every college needs to follow the procedure of NEP 2020. Economists say. So
students get ready for the new academic year and build your career with enormous knowledge.
