Increase in CBSE overall pass percentage

 

Yesterday at 12pm the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced Class 10th results. The results are available on their official website  cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.gov.in . Out of 21,13,767 registered students, 20,97,128 students have received their results, while the results of the remaining 16639 students are under process and will be announced in the upcoming days.

After the cancellation of examination for Class 10th the board decided to award marks with the help of alternative assessment. This assessment included 20marks from internal assessments, 10marks from unit tests, 30marks from half-yearly examination and 40 marks based on pre-final examination. 

Last year the overall pass percentage was 91.46 but this year it has increased by 8 percent reaching 99.04 percentage. More than 2 lakh students have secured over 90 %. 

CBSE zones in India are divided into 16 clusters. As per the sources, among the listed CBSE zones Trivandrum holds the highest pass percentage of 99.99% while it is 99.96% pass percentage in Bangalore.

Last week on 31st July  CBSE released first phase Class 12th results for Science, Arts and Commerce stream on their official websites . Students can find the results on the official websites. In comparison with the previous year results, this year there is a hike in the pass percentage. It has increased from 88.8% to 99.37%. 99.89% in Trivandrum was the highest recorded pass percentage.

In view of Covid-19 CBSE had cancelled the physical examination for Class 10th and Class 12th students. But now Class 12th students can take an offline examination in case of dissatisfaction with the current marks. To give a chance to improve their scores CBSE has decided to conduct offline exams for Class 12th from 16th August to 15th September for 19 core subjects.

Recently announced results of Class 12th students was evaluated using the 40:30:30 formula. The assessment was based on Class 12th, Class 11th and Class 10th marks.

Over 60000 students are yet to receive their results, both parents and students are worried about the same. The students need not worry about their results as the second phase results are mostly likely to be announced by 5th of August. The results are delayed due to changes in marks allotted by several schools.
