During this Pandemic period in order to prevent the spread corona virus on Tuesday (December 22nd) Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa   said “there is no need” of the curfew but on Wednesday (December 23rd) made an announcement about imposing night curfew from 24th of December 2020 to 2nd January 2021. It was mentioned that the curfew will remain between 11pm and 5am until 2nd January 5am and gathering of more than four people at a public place was restricted.

Announcement was made that, as per the order issued on December 17 midnight Christmas mass, and New year Celebration will be allowed. Pubs and bars will be open but barred parties and DJ nights will not be entertained.According to Chief Minister Yediyurappa’s statement,  only after consulting with the Union government and the Technical Advisory Commitment the decision was taken in the view of the new Covid-19 strain. 

On December 24th Thursday Karnataka government withdrew the night curfew order after the meeting held by Chief Minister Yediyurappa with all the officials and ministers. Due to the disagreement expressed by the business community and public, the government decided to withdraw the order.

Due to the concern over a new Covid-19 variant spreading in the UK Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa said that it is mandatory for all the passengers arriving at Bengaluru or Mangaluru airport to have an RT- PCR Covid-19 negative certificate to be obtained 72 hours before their departure. 

According to the reports around 2,500 people have arrived in the state since 25th November 2020 to 22nd  December 2020 through Air India and British Airways. Hence Sundar K the Health Minister has told that all those passengers arriving since 25th November will be surely monitored for around 28days and also they have to quarantine themselves.

On December 24th Thursday Air India Express made an announcement that all those passengers arriving at Karnataka airport from abroad must get a valid Covid-19 RT-PCR test done within 72 hours before their departure. If  there are no test reports then the passengers will be subjected to a compulsory Covid-19 RT-PCR test soon after their arrival in the airport.
